Tired of Running on Empty? Build Your Unshakeable Resilience to Empower Yourself and Every Young Person You Guide.
You pour your heart and soul into guiding young people, whether in the classroom, at home, or through vital programs. But who’s pouring into you? The constant demands, emotional weight, and pressure to be ‘on’ can leave you feeling drained, overwhelmed, and questioning if you have enough left to give. You know the importance of resilience, but how can you truly teach it when your own tank feels empty, and the world feels heavier than ever before?
I’ve been working with leaders, solopreneurs, and caretakers for decades to help them build the resilience they need to be present for their teams, their students, their businesses and clients.
One of the most effective ways I’ve seen work for anyone, in any setting, is adding meditation to your self-care routine. 20 minutes, twice a day, focused on just being present with your body and your breathing.
The first 20 minutes, right after you wake up, helps you ground yourself in your day. Before you’ve picked up the phone to check what anyone else’s agenda is for you that day, set your own for yourself. Set your intention for the day (maybe maintaining a sense of peace and love?), then do your meditation. If you have a mantra, great. If not, just gently focus on your breath. If you find thoughts start intruding, simply detach and re-focus on your breath.
Then, sometime later in the day, maybe at your lunch break, maybe right after classes, take another 20 minutes. Find a quiet place, close your eyes, and just follow your breath in and out for those 20 minutes.
I have used those two 20-minute meditation sessions for the past 9 years, and it’s helped me finish raising my kids, build three new businesses, navigate life changes like having my 92-year-old father-in-law move in with us, and stay present and connected to what’s important to me.
And meditation is just one way to build your resilience.
Imagine a future where you feel calm, confident, and profoundly equipped to navigate life’s inevitable challenges—not just for yourself, but as a powerful, living example for every young person you influence. This isn’t about simply surviving the daily grind; it’s about actively thriving, personally and professionally. Our transformative 8-week program, Putting Your Own Oxygen Mask On: Building Resilience So You Can Help Others Build the Capacity, is meticulously designed to provide you with both a profound mindset shift and a practical, actionable toolkit. You’ll master the art of personal resilience, allowing you to show up fully, consistently, and powerfully for yourself and the next generation.
